AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. It is said to be the last stage of HIV. HIV stands for Human Immunodeficiency Virus Infection. It occurs due to the total damage of body's immune system by virus and infections. A normal HIV patient is treated as AIDS patient when their number of CD4 cells falls below 200 cells per cubic millimeter of blood. An AIDS patient develop one or more opportunistic infections regardless of their CD4 count.
