A galaxy is a bunch of stars positioned close to each other. The Milky Way is the Galaxy in which Our solar system namely the sun, Earth, and seven other planets is a part of.Our galaxy is called the Milky Way because it looks like a milky band of light in the sky when you watch the sky on a dark and clear night. It is spiral in shape and contains several billions of stars, including the Sun. It's visible at night when the sky is clear and the light pollution is at the minimum.

It is getting closer to us, and researchers are predicting that in about 4 billion years it will clash with the Milky Way.
