When did first world war happened?

In the twentieth century, the world witnessed two world wars that reshaped the political landscape like none other before them. The second was in 1939 and started with Nazi Germany invading Poland under false pretenses. Both events were very costly in human lives over 1 million people died per war but they also led to many advancements of technology.
