Indian movies like Dangal, Secret Superstar, 3 Idiots, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan became surprisingly successful in China because audiences connected with their emotional storytelling and social themes. Dangal especially performed at a massive level and became one of the highest-grossing Indian films internationally. Chinese audiences often appreciated the family emotions, education themes, and relatable struggles shown in these films. Aamir Khan gained huge popularity there because several of his movies connected strongly with viewers. Aamir Khan's home production movie, Secret Superstar is smashing records at the China box office, these days. The film is being appreciated very much in China and gaining a lot of popularity due to its unique story-line.
Directed by Advait Chandan, released on October 19 last year in India, it is a story about a girl becoming singing sensation on YouTube. In the film, Jaira Wasim is in leading role while Aamir Khan has played a supporting role. The film's budget is about Rs 45 crore. It is said that the film has earned about Rs 62 crore in India while its overseas collection was Rs 40 crore.
Secret Superstar was released in China on January 19 and in 28 days the movie has made a box office collection of $ 11.76 million (Rs 750.69 crore). 'Secret Superstar' is still making big bucks in Chinese theaters and Aamir Khan has proved that again he is the box office commander in overseas theaters, too.
