Being single since quite a long time, I have developed this habit of dating more than one fictional character at a time mentally. After all, it’s not costing me anything, neither can I be accused of infidelity in this case. ;) The first fictional character I dated mentally was Mr. Darcy (cliché, but true).
Right now, I am dating two fictional characters. One is Chandler. Yes, he has become my permanent date and for obvious reasons. There is no fictional character as charming, as caring, and as witty as Chandler is.
I started crushing over Chandler Bing right from the day I started watching FRIENDS, but the crush intensified when he married Monica. And after some time, I started dating him mentally.
The second fictional character is Musa from The Ministry from Utmost Happiness. I’m reading this novel by Arundhati Roy, and despite Musa being a militant, I like him and the way he has been described. The thing I love the most in him is the way he says “babajaana” (it’s the little things we fall for, after all).
He’s dark (not literally though), he’s mysterious, and he knows how to maintain relationships.
Chandler and Musa, both are worth rejecting the real guys for dating.
