It was KIA super league against Loughborough Lightning where 22 year old Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana made this record. She has registered herself in the cricket records as “the joint fastest to a half-century in women T20s”, playing for Western Storm.
Mandhana hit the score of 52 – not-out in 19 balls, breaking the previous record of New Zealand’s Sophie Devine. Sophie Devine scored 42 out of 21 balls for Loughborough in 2015 but could not win victory for her team. That Smriti Mandhana did, making her team’s total 85/2.
Smriti Mandhana is the first Indian to play in England's premier women's domestic T20 tournament. Her achievement is worth appreciating as she did the trick in a match which was shortened to six overs due to rainfall.
