ThePench Tiger Reserve(PTR) spread across Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra and Satpura Tiger Reserve in Madhya Pradesh have been awarded the TX2 Award for doubling the big cat population there.
Pench National Park is located in the magical land of Madhya Pradesh which falls in the districts of Seoni and Chhindwara bordering Maharashtra. Central India boasts of the Pench tiger reserve that lies nestled among the serene mountains of the Satpura range. “The Jungle Book,” an immensely popular and much-loved wildlife novel by Rudyard Kipling, is based on Pench. The story of Mowgli was inspired by a real story prevalent in the region. it is also famous for rare species of black panther.
