Choosing a good nursing college is really important because it shapes your future as a healthcare professional. I remember when my cousin wanted to pursue nursing, we spent weeks researching and visiting different colleges to see which felt right. From that experience, here’s a list of some top nursing colleges in India:

  • All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi – Famous for its academic excellence and strong clinical exposure.
  • IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences, Durgapur – This one really impressed us. The campus felt very welcoming, the faculty were approachable, and the hands-on training in hospitals made it easier for students to gain confidence.
  • Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore – Loved by students for its experienced teachers and supportive learning environment.
  • Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune – Known for discipline, structured training, and a strong focus on practical skills.
  • Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing, New Delhi – One of the oldest institutes with a solid reputation and excellent faculty guidance.

Honestly, visiting a few colleges in person really helps because you get a feel of the environment.

When my sister was planning to pursue her B.Sc Nursing, our entire family went through the long (and honestly, tiring) process of comparing colleges — from infrastructure and placements to real student reviews. After visiting several campuses and talking to current students, here’s what we found about some of the best nursing colleges in West Bengal:

Top B.Sc Nursing Colleges in West Bengal :

  1. IQ City Institute of Nursing Sciences, Durgapur
What really caught my attention here was the blend of modern infrastructure and a hospital within the same campus — IQ City Medical College Hospital. Students get hands-on training in a real hospital setup from day one, which is a huge advantage.

  2. Apollo Gleneagles Nursing College, Kolkata
Known for its hospital-integrated training and strong clinical exposure at Apollo Hospitals. The academic environment is very disciplined.

  3. Peerless College of Nursing, Kolkata
Offers good practical training, though the campus area is comparatively smaller.

  4. College of Nursing, NRS Medical College, Kolkata
A reputed government college with strong academic heritage and good placement records.

  5. KPC Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata
Known for its clinical exposure and modern facilities; admission is quite competitive.

  6. Vivekananda College of Nursing, Kolkata
Focuses on holistic development and has a good student support system.
