Gahmar is a village in India, close to the Ganges River in Uttar Pradesh. It's about 38 kilometers away from Ghazipur. In Gahmar, there are two post offices and one Panchayat Bhawan. People also call Gahmar the "Village of Soldiers."
Now, let's talk about Gahmar's history. Gahmar was first settled by a group called the Sakarwar Rajputs. They are the descendants of Dham Deo Misir, who came from a place near Fatehpur Sikri after it was taken over by Babur in 1527 AD. They have close ties to another group called the Sakarwar Bhumihars and the Kamsar Pathans, who are the descendants of Dham Deo Misir's brother Maharaja Kam Dev Misir.
At first, both groups settled in a place called Sakradih, but because of floods, Dham Deo moved to Maa Kamakhya Dham near Gahmar, and Kam Deo settled in Reotipur. Dham Dev had two sons named Roop Ram Rao and Diwan Ram Rao. One of Roop Ram's sons, Sainu Mal Rao, and his family mostly settled in Gahmar. By the year 1800 AD, there were 23 groups of people from the same clan living in Gahmar.
