Hiranyakashyap is accepted to be the principal devil offspring of Maharshi Kashyap and Diti. Three evil presences had assumed control over the seat of Indra Hiranyakashyap, Prahlad and Bali. After that the seat of Indra returned to the devtas (gods) for eternity. Hiranyakashyap was brought into the world to Diti when she was perched on the seat of Hiranya (gold) for the Ashvamedh Yagya performed by Maharshi Kashyap. That is the reason he was called Hiranyakashyap. His sibling Hiranyaksha was murdered by Lord Vishnu.

''When Hiranyakashyap was noticing repentance, lord Naradji had exhorted Kayadhu (spouse of Hiranyakashyap) to rehearse the dedication of Lord Vishnu. Because of this, Prahlad, who was then in the belly of Kayadhu, turned into an extraordinary lover of Vishnu.''

Hiranyakashyap got exceptionally furious with this dedication of Prahlad towards his foe Vishnu and commonly he attempted to kill Prahlad, however every time Prahlad was saved. As per numerous old stories, it is said that Hiranyakashyap's better half Kayadhu not exclusively was an extraordinary enthusiast of Krishna and yet was an aficionado of Devi Ganga and was cherished by Devi Ganga. Gangamaiya had shielded Kayadhu's child Prahlad from the lethal tricks of Demon minister Shukracharya.lord vishnu painting - craftsman Pieter Weltevrede

Tired of the barbarities of Hiranyakashyap, the devtas (gods) begged Lord Vishnu to murder him. Eventually, Lord Vishnu showed from a stone column in His Narsimha (half lion, half human) symbol (manifestation) , and at sundown slaughtered Hiranyakashyap with his nails, consequently keenly dodging the help given him by Bramaji

''Hiranyakashyap was Jaya, the guard of master Vishnu in his past life. Jaya was renewed on earth as a devil because of the revile put on him by Sankadi, one of the four Sanat Kumars, whom he had rejected section into Vishnu's royal residence as he couldn't remember him.''
