The concept of the continental float is maximum related to the scientist Alfred Wegener. In the early twentieth century, Wegener posted a paper explaining his concept that the continental landmasses were “drifting” throughout the Earth, every now and then plowing thru oceans and into every other. He is known as this motion continental float.

Alfred Wegener is said to be the Father of Continental Drift.Continental drift is the movement of the of continents from its place which is a slow and ongoing process .This happened due to the earth plates below the earth crust coming together, going away from one another or moving on top of each other every year. This resulted in movement of land mass away or together changing the position of land on earth. These continental collision resulted in the formation of some of the world’s mountain ranges and oceans. It is said that India collided with Eurasia around 50 million years ago, forming the Himalayas.

The theory of continental drift is connected with the scientist Alfred Wegener. In the early 20th century, Wegener published a paper explaining his theory that the continental landmasses were moving across the Earth, moving in an uncontrolled manner through oceans and hitting each other.
Wegener's explanation made on the basis of limited evidence was not acceptable to the geologists and modern scientists as they wanted reason and facts to support the theory. His explanation was that the force of Earth's spin was enough to cause continents to move, but according to geologists rocks were too strong for this to be true.
