Pramod Sawant, the 13th and current Chief Minister of the Indian state of Goa, was born on April 24, 1973. Sawant serves the Sanquelim region in the Goa Legislative Assembly as a representative of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He is an Ayurvedic medicine practitioner. Before being inducted in as Chief Minister after the demise of a incumbent, Manohar Parrikar, he was indeed the president of the Goa legislature. Sawant first entered politics in 2008, when he fought for the Pale Constituency along on a BJP ticket and losing to Indian National Congress nominee Pratap Prabhakar Gauns.
