If you’re a fan of English Literature, you may have found yourself wondering who exactly is its father. The answer is William Shakespeare. The bard was born in Stratford-upon-Avon on April 23rd 1564, and he lived on until April 23rd 1616. He had been writing plays since the early 1590s, as we know from his earliest work The Comedy of Errors which was published in 1594 and bears a dedication. It is difficult to pinpoint with absolute certainty when the works for which he's now recognised as being preeminently responsible began appearing.
