Amul is a cooperative brand which is based on dairy products. It was established 75 years ago in 1946 by Dr. Verghese Kurien in Anand, Gujarat. It was all started with the exploitation of small farmers by the traders and this led to India's White Revolution and making India the largest seller of milk and milk products.
The cooperative society was further managed and developed by Verghese Kurien and H.M Dalaya who innovated the making of skim milk. With his help the process of making milk was spread and this made amul the first modern dairy.
