In the record book of Test cricket nothing is more exciting to see a young player make a mark against the best in the world. Test cricket has witnessed many great very young cricketers who were only in their teens made a significant impact on international cricket.

Pakistan's Hasan Raza was at the age of 14 created a history by becoming the youngest Test and ODI debutant in cricket history in October 1996. The Karachi-born batsman played seven Tests and 16 ODIs in his international career during 1996-2005. Due to on and off field injuries he could not leave an impact on the cricket history and had a short start-stop international career.

However, from India's side Sachin Tendulkar who made his international debut at the age of 16 still holds the record of youngest Test and ODI debutant for India.

Shaw is now the seventh youngest player in Test cricket history to score a hundred on debut. On Wednesday, the Indian team management announced Shaw would make his Test debut against West Indies in Rajkot. He was part of the Indian squad for the final two Tests in England but he did not get to play a game.

The youngest Test debutant in cricket history is Hasan Raza from Pakistan. He made his debut at just 14 years and 227 days old back in 1996. It’s still one of the most surprising records in cricket, and no one has come close to breaking it in modern times.
