While we are overjoyed by India’s historic title defense at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Pakistan's Sahibzada Farhan finished as the top run-scorer of the T20 World Cup 2026 with 383 runs, breaking Virat Kohli’s 2014 record. However, our own Sanju Samson was the real hero for us, amassing 321 runs in just five games, including a crucial 89 in the final to secure the trophy. True dominance by the Men in Blue!

Honestly, following the 2026 T20 World Cup, one player who kept popping up in highlights and scorecards again and again was Sahibzada Farhan from Pakistan. By the end of the tournament, he finished as the highest run-scorer.

The top run-scorer of T20 World Cup 2026

  • Sahibzada Farhan (Pakistan)

  • Runs: 383

  • Matches: 7

He was incredibly consistent throughout the tournament. Almost every time Pakistan played, Farhan seemed to give them a strong start, including a brilliant century during the competition.

How it felt watching the tournament

If you watched the games, it honestly felt like Farhan was in one of those unstoppable forms. Even when Pakistan were under pressure, he kept finding boundaries and rotating strike calmly. By the time the knockout stages arrived, commentators were already saying he might end up with the most runs—and that’s exactly what happened.

Interestingly, even though India won the tournament, Farhan still topped the batting charts, which shows just how dominant his individual performances were.

Other big run scorers

A few other players also had fantastic tournaments:

  • Sanju Samson (India) – 321 runs and Player of the Tournament.

  • Ishan Kishan (India) – around 317 runs.

  • Finn Allen (New Zealand) – close to 300 runs.

So yeah, while India lifted the trophy, Sahibzada Farhan was the batting star of the 2026 T20 World Cup.
