- Cyrus Pallonji Mistry is a well-known businessman. He was born on 4th July 1968 in Bombay and died on 4th September 2022 in Palghar, Maharashtra.
- He was the sixth chairman of the Tata Group after Ratan Tata retired in 2012. He was the second person to be chairman of the Tata Group outside of the Tata family after Nowroji Saklatwala.
- He owned an 18.4% share of the company. He was known to be the largest shareholder of the company. Cyrus Investments Pvt Ltd and Sterling Investments Corporation Pvt Ltd are the two companies in which Cyrus Mistry invested.
- Unfortunately, he is no more with us as he died recently in an accident on 4th September.
- He is related to Ratan Tata in two ways. One is he is connected with Tata Group. And the other relation between them is through Noel Tata. Noel Tata is the half-brother of Ratan Tata and he is also a brother-in-law of Cyrus Pallonji Mistry.
- Though he was appointed as the chairperson of Tata Group in 2012, later in 2016 it was decided to remove him from the position. Then the case was appealed to NCLAT and they ordered Mistry's position back. Then the case went to the Supreme Court as Tata Group filed a case against NCLAT.
- After all these chaotic situations, Mistry decided that he does not want his position back.
- Not only Tata Group, but he is also the reason for the excellent growth of Shapoorji Pallonji Group.
- His death was very unexpected and sudden as it was a car accident on a bridge over the Surya river in Palghar.
