Rachael Heyhoe Flint made history as the inaugural female cricketer to notch a century in an international match. This remarkable accomplishment occurred on June 23, 1969, during a game between England and Australia at Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds.
Heyhoe Flint, a right-handed opening batter, represented England from 1967 to 1984. Her leadership skills were evident as she captained the England team from 1973 to 1978, leading them to victory in the Women's Cricket World Cup in 1973.
Her contributions to women's cricket were widely acknowledged, culminating in her induction into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2010. Sadly, she passed away in 2017 at the age of 74, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of cricket.
