Governors in India are the heads of the 28 states each. This governor is elected by the President of India for the time period of 5 years. These are the heads of state governments and are responsible for taking the right executive action. The first Indian woman to be appointed as a governor was Sarojini Naidu. She governed from 1947-1949 in Uttar Pradesh. Following her path, her daughter Padmaja Naidu was the longest serving governor. She governed for 11 years in West Bengal.
