Yashpal Sharma was a former Indian cricket player who represented India for 7 years. He was right hand opening batsman and a wicket-keeper. He made his international debut for India in a test match against England in August, 1979 and played his last game in a test match against West Indies in November, 1983. He was an integral part in helping India win the 1983 World Cup. Unfortunately, at the age of 66, he passed away. He will forever be remembered as one of the best batsman of that era.

After retiring from cricket, Yashpal Sharma worked as a coach and commentator. He passed away on July 13, 2021, at the age of 66 due to a heart attack.
