Starting from 22nd October 2018 Canada's Canada post is on strike. It is entered 5th week and talks between the Canadian government and Canadian Union of postal workers failed to come to a deal.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers which is having 50,000 workers as its member says , the Canada post should address the issues arose due to the massive growth of parcel deliveries, health problems of postal workers, safety concerns and forced overtime. First the strike was in Victoria, Edmonton, and Windsor and Halifax. But now it spread even to Toronto.

In lieu of the strike, the Canada Post is unable to deliver the parcels and letters to the customers. Canada post is facing huge delivery backlog. In Toronto alone 260 trailers of packages and parcels are waiting to be unloaded. While in Vancouver more than 100 trailers are waiting outside the Canada Post office.

Due to this rotating strike and huge amount of undelivered packages, Canada postal Service issued a plea to the world to stop sending mails as its striking workers rejected the latest offer.

Canadian Prime Minister is facing pressure from online retailers like eBay to legislate an end to the strike before Black Friday sale which is on 23rd November and cyber Monday which is on 26th November. But the spokesperson on Canadian Postal Workers Union said that it is unlikely that the rotating strike will end before that.
