The reason behind is the ‘Go Green’ initiative. Virat Kohli and his teammates promote the message of environmental conservation and planting more trees. With help of this initiative, they also spread awareness about Global Warming.

The ‘Go Green’ initiative was first set up by Siddharth Mallaya in 2011 and since then the RCB players have been continuing this practice. If you ever noticed that during home matches the RCB skipper, Virat Kohli gives a small plant to the opposing captain during the toss ceremony.

Similarly, for home matches the RCB team wears green jerseys to promote the Go green initiative. The names of the players on the jerseys are replaced by their twitter handles. This initiative was first started way back in IPL 4 during the match against Kochi Tuskers Keral Royals that was a former IPL team.
