There are many reasons why India is still considered to be a developing country even after so much development and progress. Firstly, India has a very high population density, along with a high infant mortality rate as well. In addition, India also has a comparatively lower life expectancy rate in comparison to the other developed countries. Also, India also has a lot of illiterate and poor population. With people being illiterate and poor, they are also unemployed. On a bigger scale, India's level of corruption is very high and is not as technologically advanced as some of the other developed nations like China, Japan, U.S.A and U.K. India's Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi announced that he would like to reach the status of a developed nation by the year 2047. Currently, India's per capita income is about $6,067.00, which is considered to be one-third of an average developed country's per capita income of $18,000.00.
