This is to do more with the workload of teachers, and less with the benefits of students. The exemption of the fees of students from 9th to 12th standards is being implemented by Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, because the record making consumes a lot of time. He wants the work of administration to get digitized in the government schools of Delhi.
Manish Sisodia has also insisted upon freeing the teaching staff of Delhi government schools from any administration activity so that they can focus only on teaching and learning. This is a step taken towards the betterment of government schools in Delhi after the government improved the infrastructure of the schools earlier.
New teachers are also to be appointed in these schools to improve the quality teaching there. As for the public schools in Delhi, Sisodia says, that they can’t increase students’ fees without the government’s permission.
After questions raised on the conditions of infrastructure and quality teaching in the government schools of
Punjab and
Kerala, this is a consoling news, that at least in some parts of India, government schools –where the poor section of society send their children to study –is getting the attention they deserve.
