Vitamin C is like a superhero nutrient for our bodies. It helps us build and keep our bones, skin, and blood vessels healthy. It's also like a shield that protects our cells from harm. You can find vitamin C in fruits and veggies, and some folks might need pills with it.

Our bodies don't save vitamin C, so we have to eat it every day. Grown-ups should aim for 90 milligrams if they're guys and 75 milligrams if they're ladies. But some folks, like pregnant ladies or those who smoke, might need even more.

Vitamin C has some important jobs in our bodies, like making a protein called collagen that holds our skin, bones, and blood vessels together. It also helps our immune system fight off sickness, heals our cuts and scrapes, and guards our cells from harm.

If you don't get enough vitamin C, you can get sick with a condition called scurvy. That's when your joints swell up, your gums bleed, and you feel really tired. So, make sure you get your daily dose of vitamin C to stay healthy!
