Why Men’s Day is not given as much importance as Women’s Day?

I don’t know why we even want something like Men’s Day. There are many arguments that I have been hearing since yesterday about Men’s Day and it not being taken seriously.

The funniest ones are: “So we can celebrate toilet day but not Men’s Day”, and “Men themselves don’t take such things seriously because they don’t crave attention like women”. Don’t you sense a whiff of insecurity in these reactions? Well, I do.

Men actually are trying too hard, way too hard to keep up with the unprecedented rise of feminism. And this is what has given way to the popularity of Men’s Day, which according to me doesn’t even deserve to exist. Call me a Feminazi if you want.

Celebrating Men’s day is as absurd as supporting the accused men, instead of the victimized women during the Metoo movement –both of the practices do nothing but support sexism and patriarchy. This is my reason for not taking Men’s Day seriously at all, let alone taking it as seriously as Women’s Day which, like Toilet Day aims at creating a certain kind of awareness in public.

Besides, I don’t know what exactly men want to celebrate on a particular day when being a man has already made their life celebratory when compared with the condition and existence of women in the society –and in every society at that. Men celebrate being men every day, in one way or the other. So it’s obvious that they themselves miss out on this particular day.
