It is believed according to Hindu Mythology that after returning from exile after fourteen years Lord Rama offered prayings to the Sun.”Chatt” means six & from then onwards it is celebrated as a Hindu festival all over India on the sixth day of Kartik month. This puja is dedicated to Lord Surya & his sister Shashti Devi(commonly known as Chatti Maiya)in order to thank for all the blessings & protecting us through life.
