However, there are other methods of applying that will greatly increase your chances of securing the job. For example, there are certain online platforms that allow you to gather more information about the company than normal job applicants would get through the mail or on their websites, and this increases your chances of getting hired outside of an open posting. One example is called Glassdoor where users can leave reviews about their jobs and employers and even rate them anonymously for risks and benefits. You should also know that more and more employers are starting to use behavioral interview questions. These questions test the applicant and give insight into their skill sets, how they think, and what they're comfortable with.
