Honestly, the easiest way to check whether your name appears in the Supplementary Voter List is by visiting the Election Commission of India's (ECI) Voters' Service Portal. You can search using your EPIC (Voter ID) number or by entering details like your name, date of birth, and state. If your name has been added, corrected, or updated in the latest supplementary electoral roll, it should appear there.

What Is It?

A Supplementary Voter List is an updated version of the electoral roll published after the main voter list.

It usually includes:

  • Newly registered voters.

  • Corrections to existing voter details.

  • Changes in address or constituency.

  • Deleted or modified voter records.

I think many people assume the supplementary list is a completely separate voter list, but that's not true. It's simply an update to the existing electoral roll that reflects recent changes.

Step-by-Step Process

You can check your name by following these steps:

  1. Visit the ECI Voters' Service Portal.

  2. Choose Search in Electoral Roll.

  3. Search using either:

    • Your EPIC (Voter ID) number, or

    • Your name, date of birth, state, district, and other details.

  4. Enter the required captcha and click Search.

  5. If your name appears, you'll also be able to see your polling station and electoral details.

  6. If available, you can also download the latest electoral roll PDF for your constituency and check the supplementary section.

Troubleshooting

If you can't find your name, don't panic.

A few possible reasons are:

  • The supplementary list hasn't been published yet.

  • Your application is still being processed.

  • Your details were entered incorrectly during the search.

  • Your name may have been moved to another constituency after a change of address.

I have noticed that many people search using only their name. If possible, try searching with your EPIC number because it's usually the fastest and most accurate method.

If your name is still missing, contact your local Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Booth Level Officer (BLO), or submit the appropriate application through the ECI portal.

Required Documents

You generally don't need any documents just to search your name online.

However, if you need to correct or update your voter information, you may be asked for:

  • EPIC (Voter ID) number.

  • Aadhaar Card (where applicable).

  • Proof of identity.

  • Proof of address.

  • Passport-size photograph (for certain applications).

The exact documents may vary depending on the type of request you're making.

Double-check your information, wait for the latest supplementary roll if it's still pending, or contact your local election office for assistance.

Many people in India get very worried when they don't find their name in the main voter list just before the elections. But you don't need to panic because there is something called a "Supplementary Voter List." This list is basically an update where the Election Commission adds new names of people who applied late or corrected their details. If you want to know how to find your name in this list for 2026, I will explain it in very simple steps.

First, you must understand that the voter list is updated many times. The main list comes out first, and then the supplementary list is released just a few weeks or days before the voting day. To check your name, the best and fastest way is to go to the official website of the Election Commission of India (ECI) or your state’s Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) website.

Once you open the website, look for a button or link that says "Search Your Name in Electoral Roll" or "Download Voter List PDF." When you click this, you have two choices. The first choice is to search by your EPIC Number (which is the number written on your Voter ID card). This is the best way because it is very accurate. If your name has been moved to the supplementary list, it will show your updated polling booth and serial number here.

The second choice is to "Search by Details." Here you have to type your Name, Father’s Name, Age, and your State or District. Be very careful with the spelling of your name. Sometimes in India, names are spelled differently in English and Hindi, so if you don't find it the first time, try different spellings or just use the EPIC number.

If you are not very good with computers or the internet is slow, you can use your mobile phone. You can download the Voter Helpline App. This app is very easy to use. Just enter your details and it will show if your name is in the supplementary list. Another way is to send an SMS. You can type ECI <space> Your EPIC Number and send it to 1950. You will get a reply with your details immediately.

If you still can’t find your name online, don't lose hope. You can go to your local BLO (Booth Level Officer). Every area has a BLO who keeps the printed copy of the latest supplementary voter list. You can find them at the nearby government school or local municipal office. They are very helpful and can show you exactly where your name is written in the new register.

Remember, if your name was deleted by mistake or if you recently moved to a new house and applied for a transfer (Form 8), your name will definitely be in the supplementary list and not the old main list. It is very important to check this at least one week before the election day so that you don't face any problems at the polling station.

Voting is our right and also our duty. So, take 5 minutes today and check the list. If your name is there, you are ready to vote!

Checking for your name in the Supplementary Voter List can feel a bit confusing because the "Supplementary" part isn't always a separate link—it’s usually just the most recent update to the main electoral roll.

If you’ve recently moved, turned 18, or corrected your details, here is exactly how I’ve observed the process working on the ground in 2026:

1. The "Search by Mobile" Shortcut (Easiest)
Instead of hunting through PDFs, go to the official Voters' Service Portal (voters.eci.gov.in) and use the "Search in Electoral Roll" feature.

Why this works: The search database is live. If your name was added via a supplementary list during the "Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026," it will show up here automatically.

The Steps: Select 'Search by Mobile,' enter your number, and verify with the OTP. It’s much faster than typing out long addresses.

2. Look for the "SIR 2026" PDF
If you prefer seeing the actual document (the "list" itself), look for the "Download Electoral Roll" section.

In 2026, many states are using the SIR (Special Intensive Revision) labels.

Select your State, District, and Assembly Constituency.

Look for the "Final Roll 2026" or "Supplement 1." The "Supplement" is the actual list of names added after the draft was published.

3. Check for the "Under Adjudication" Tag
I’ve noticed that if you’ve recently applied, your name might show up in the search but with a status like "Under Adjudication." * This means you are essentially on the "waiting list" for the next supplement. Once the Booth Level Officer (BLO) finishes the field verification, that tag disappears, and you’re officially a voter.

4. The "Old School" Verification
If the website feels buggy (which happens during peak result/election seasons), you can:

Call 1950: This is the ECI helpline. Give them your EPIC number, and they can tell you if you’re in the latest supplement.

Visit your BLO: Every locality has a Booth Level Officer. They carry the physical "Supplementary List" which contains all the fresh additions made in the last few months.

Pro-Tip: If you search and find nothing, check for "logical discrepancies." Sometimes names are spelled differently in the digital record (e.g., "Manish" vs "Maneesh"). Try searching with just your EPIC (Voter ID) number to be 100% sure.
