Taste buds are sensory organs found on the tongue that allow you to experience sweet, salty, sour, and bitter flavours. About 10,000 taste buds are present within the normal human, and that they are replaced every fortnight approximately . However, as an individual gets older, a number of those taste cells aren't replaced. An elderly individual may have only 5,000 functioning taste buds. As a result, many meals may have a greater flavour for you than they are doing for adults. Taste receptors are situated on the side of the tongue, taste bud , upper oesophagus, cheek, and epiglottis in little structures called as papillae.
