Self-esteem is very important for us to have more fulfilled lives. In this digital world that we live in, many people face or have low self-esteem because of the societal expectations thrust upon them and the importance that people have started to give to their appearances. Addressing low self-esteem often involves identifying and challenging these underlying causes and fostering self-compassion. It is vital to identify the root causes, practice self-compassion by acknowledging imperfections and being kind to oneself, set realistic goals, avoid overthinking, build a positive network, practice self-care, develop new skills by recognizing your strengths, limit comparison, and practice gratitude. Developing self-esteem takes time, and reminding yourself of your positive qualities and celebrating small victories is essential.
