The Ashoka Chakra is the Dharma Chakra which has 24 spokes which represents Buddhism.The Indian Flag is an incarnation of Ashoka Chakra which was adopted on 24th July 1947.On a white background the navy blue coloured with 24 spokes all around represents the pre independence of the Indian flag.The 24 spokes are divided into two parts.The first 12 spokes represents the 12 “stages of sufferings” & the next 12 represents “no cause no effect”.

The Ashoka Chakra is one of the important part of national flag. It is the depiction of Dharma Chakra. Our national flag consists of three colours with this important chakra. It's all constituents symbolises something bout our nation. Like that, ashoka chakra also shows the dharma of nation. It is a wheel represented by 24 spokes in Buddhism. It is present in blue colour in our national flag. It was adopted on 24 July, 1947.
