Chartered accountants are skilled professionals who advise on financial matters and assist with tax preparation, audits, and other important aspects of running a business.

Chartered accountants are held to a high standard, governed by the Chartered Accountant Act. This act sets out registration requirements for chartered accountants so they have the proper training, experience, and skills before being able to set up their own accounting firms or work independently as consultants. They must also adhere to specific ethics principles in order to maintain their designation.

The job of charted accountant ranges greatly depending on what type of consulting they may be engaged in or what part of an organisation they may be working with.
