One name that is often mentioned is Horace Mann, an American education reformer from the 19th century. He did not invent education itself, but he played a major role in promoting public schooling in the United States. Horace Mann believed that education should be accessible to all children regardless of their social or economic background. Because of his efforts, he is often called the "Father of the Common School Movement."

So, if someone asks who invented school, the most accurate answer is that no single person invented it. However, Horace Mann is widely recognized for helping establish and improve the modern public school system that influenced education in many countries.

Overall, schools are the product of centuries of educational development rather than the invention of one individual.
