India has had many power hitters in the past like Ravi Shastri, the current Indian Coach.

Each decade has it's own crowd puller . I have been following cricket for early 70’s.

Here is a list of such players

Virender Sehwag,

Yusuf Pathan,

Yuvraj Singh,

Hardik Pandya ,

Rohit Sharma,

Azhar and Navjot Sidhu.

Virender Sehwag

The most perilous force hitter ever in Indian Cricket is "Virender Sehwag" otherwise known as "Multan of Sultan". Strike pace of over 80 in Test Cricket ! This shows the amount he is equipped for striking the ball . An excess of intensity, man !

Cricket is the most exciting game mainly in Asian, Australian and European continent. We Indians are breathing cricket and it is in our blood. From 5 days test match to 60 overs match,50 overs match to cricket is now famous for T20 matches. With T20 format, the main objective of the player is to hit runs than keeping the players wicket. So 21st century cricket is about hitting runs .

While talking about power hitters of current time, the first cricketer who comes to our mind isRohit Sharma who is nick named as Hitman by media. Who was the captain in some of the T20 matches and one day internationals during Virat Kohli's absence. He is vice captain of Indian team. His record is mind blowing.

•    He is the fastest batsman to score 100 runs in(35 balls) T20.
•    He is the only batsman in the world to score three double centuries in ODIs.
•    He is the first cricket to score 4 centuries in international T20 matches.
•    In 2014 Rohit Sharma was the highest individual scorer by hitting 264 runs against Sri Lanka.
•    Rohit Sharma holds the record of scoring most runs from fours and sixes scoring 186 runs.
•    He is the record holder of most number of sixes - 16 in an ODI innings.
•    He is the hitter of most number of fours  - 33 fours in an ODI innings.

The list is very long. So at present Rohit Sharma is the hitter of all time. But we cannot end this without mentioning legends of Indian cricket who were the hitters.

First cricket who comes to our mind when we are talking about sixes and fours is Kapil Dev. With his 175 not out runs against Zimbabwe in  world cup match is a legend itself. And Indian cricket fans were witnessed power hits when Kapil Dev was playing. His sixes were very famous.

After Kapil Dev, M.S. Dhoni is the greatest hit man. There is nothing India didn't know about Mr. Captain Cool. His sixes and fours are marvelous to watch. He is as equal as Kapil Dev in view of captaincy and hitting boundaries.

Apart from these 3 Virendra Sehwag  and Virat Kohli  are also power  hitters.
