Geoffrey Chaucer , who was born between 1340 and 1344, is regarded as the Father of English Language. Chaucer was one of the greatest poet of the middle ages and is also regarded as the Father of English Poetry. He is best known for his work Canterbury Tales. The writer's first major work was The Book of Duchess , which was an elegy written for Blanche of Lancaster , who died in 1368.
