Raksha Bandhan is a festival which celebrates the love and bond of a brother and sister. In India it is very sacred and special. This hindu festival is celebrated in the month of shravan which always falls in the month of August.It is celebrated on the full moon day and on this day sister visits her brother with a Rakhi which is a sacred thread. She ties this on the hand of her brother, do puja and offer him sweets. Every year it is a celebration of the brother’s pledge to take care of his sister throughout his life and sisters prayer for her brother's safety and prosperity.
