Not surprised.

Not surprised at all.

The statements came from scientists of a country whose leader once said, “We worship Lord Ganesha. There must have been some plastic surgeon at that time who got an elephant’s head on the body of a human being and began the practice of plastic surgery.”

And oh, can we forget PM Modi’s goof-up with the blatantly-absurd idea “Climate has not changed. We have changed.”

That aside, the ruling party has many genius members who have ripped apart Science as we know it.
FROM “cow not only inhales oxygen, but it exhales too” TO “Cow dung and urine can cure cancer” – oh, how far have we come.

For the uninitiated, at a recently held conference, Indian scientists dismissed the discoveries of Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton. They also used Hindu scriptures to contend a whole lot of genius theories, including how stem cell research was discovered in India and that Ravana had 24 types of aircraft.

One of the Indian scientists from a university in Tamil Nadu even proposed that gravitational waves should be renamed as “Narendra Modi waves”.

I am not surprised. No one should really.

Although the Indian Scientific Congress Association has called these comments “unfortunate” and unsubscribed to these views, as of late, scientific bodies in the country have become less about Science and more about Hindu mythology.

Not only these stupid comments from leading figures undermine Hindu scriptures as slipshod, but they also give India a bad name in the global forum.

I mean, one of these days, these people need to realize the difference between a conspiracy theorist and plain stupid.

Again, I am not surprised. And no one really should.

It’s not just about India. The world still has people who believe the world is flat, remember?
