The current Education Minister of India is Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan. He has been the Education Minister of India since 7th of July, 2021. Along with being the Education Minister, he is also a member of the Council of Ministers.

Dharmendra Prashad is the current Education Minister of India from 7th July to till now. He is one of the member of Council of Ministers. India has the Ministry of Education on 15th August, 1947. In 1985, Rajiv Gandhi has renamed it to the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). Narendra Modi has also made an announcement of National Education Policy 2020 and renamed it again back to the Ministry of Education.

The current Education Minister of India is Dharmendra Pradhan, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was appointed to the position on July 7, 2021. Prior to that, he served as the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

Pradhan is a native of Odisha and holds a degree in engineering from the Biju Patnaik University of Technology. He entered politics in the early 1990s and has held various positions in the BJP, including the President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the party.

As Education Minister, Pradhan has focused on improving the quality of education in India at all levels. He has also overseen the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, which is a major reform of the Indian education system.
