Please don’t think it is impossible. I know how much we ladies like to buy new stuff, and parties are a valid reason to do that. But once in a blue moon there occur a party in which you are invited last moment. Or for which you didn’t get time to prepare.

In such cases, please don’t think that the old stuff locked inside your wardrobe since ages is entirely useless. Sometimes it’s not even old. Can you call a top worn just once and then forgotten for some reason old? In fact, this is something which is going to come to your rescue now.

Listed below are five dresses which you can come up with by mixing and matching the old stuff in your wardrobe.

1. A long skirt with a party-wear top, complemented by a funky neck-piece

This will give you an Indo-western look. Make sure the top is a bit shimmery if your long skirt is entirely plain. Best would be to wear a printed skirt, or the one with a pattern, with a plain but shiny top and complimenting it with a funky neck-piece which can grab more attention than your old top.

2. Old Jumpsuit, new style

If you have worn your jumpsuit already at a party, but it is still in good condition, you may like to wear it in an entirely new way. Compliment it with a long shrug, or an overcoat. Wear a dark lipstick and high-heels to make it look more stylish.

Don’t forget to do your hair really nice. A high pony or a messy bun will give your look an extra edge.

3. Your long suit turned lehenga

If it’s a wedding or a traditional gathering, you may want to wear a lehenga. And if your old lehenga has already caught everyone’s eye, then you can turn your old suit into a lehenga. Many suits nowadays are made in such a way that they can be easily cut into Lehenga and Choli and reused in a party.

4. A simple kurti redone

With funky earrings, any kurti can be redone very elegantly. If it has a good print or pattern, or even a good border, then you can safely ditch everything for it. If it’s a plain kurti, you can pair it with plain leggings and a heavy dupatta and earrings.

5. Maxi dress

Maxi dresses never go old and let’s admit it, they are as comfortable as anything. But if you are too conscious to wear the same maxi dress again, just cut is and make it a short and cute dress. If you wear it with stockings, the look will change significantly.

PS: If none of the above works, invade your mom’s wardrobe and pick out a suitable sari for yourself.
