Spinach usually is not associated with the delicacies which make your mouth watered at the very sight of it.

Still there are some dishes that can be easily made at home with spinach and yet are not as boring as the usual spinach curry or vegetable. One of such dishes is Spinach and onion fritters (pakoras) with pear and mint chutney.

Most of us don’t like having spinach in spite of it being one of the healthiest foods. And talking of children, even Popeye can’t make them eat spinach without throwing tantrums. So if you want your family to have spinach leaves, you certainly have to come up with some interesting dish which incorporates spinach and is tasty as well.

One interesting dish that can be made of spinach is its patty or “spinach tikki”. It will surely be liked by both children and adults. To add to the flavors, you can also include corn in it.
Ingredients:
Finely chopped spinach leaves, corn, poha, petite yellow lentils or moong dal (4 hours), onion finely chopped, chopped tomatoes, green chilly finely chopped, mixture of ground spices or garam masala (powdered), butter, oil for frying and salt to taste.
How to make:
• Take butter in a deep frying pan and fry onions in it.
• Add finely chopped spinach, tomato, corn, and green chilly to it. Then add salt and cover it for few minutes, letting it get cooked properly.
• Steam the already dipped yellow lentil. Wash the poha and keep it for 10-15 minutes.
• Mix the steamed lentil and poha, add salt and green chilly and make a dough out of the mixture.
• Now make equal parts of the dough. Make them bigger and slightly slender with the help of your palms, making a deep hollow in the middle. Fill the mixture of spinach in the middle and close it, making a patty.
• Heat the oil and deep fry the patties until golden.
• Your spinach patty is ready. Eat it with sauce or chutney according to your taste.
