Shahi Paneer is a delicious North Indian dish that is popular in restaurants and homes alike. Ingredients:

  • 250g paneer
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1 tsp ginger paste
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 2-3 green cardamom pods
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan with added cumin seeds. When they start to splutter, add bay leaf, cloves, and cardamom pods.
  2. Add properly chopped onions and salt until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add ginger and garlic paste and cook for a few more minutes.
  4. Add chopped tomatoes, salt, and all the spices (except garam masala powder) and cook until the tomatoes are soft and mushy.
  5. Remove the bay leaf, cloves, and cardamom pods and blend the mixture to a smooth paste.
  6. Pour the mixture back into the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Add cream and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  8. Cut the paneer into small cubes and add them to the gravy. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
  9. Add garam masala powder and cook for another minute.
  10. Serve hot with naan, roti, or rice.

Tips:

  • Use fresh paneer for the best taste.
  • Kindly adjust the amount of cream as per your taste.
  • Add a pinch of sugar if the tomatoes are too sour.
  • You can also add cashew nuts or almonds to the gravy for a richer taste.
  • Garnish with fresh green coriander leaves before serving for makes presentation good

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams of paneer (cottage cheese)
  • 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 large tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves (optional)
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Cut the paneer into small cubes and keep it aside.

  2. Heat oil or ghee in a pan on medium flame.

  3. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

  4. Add chopped onion and sauté until it turns golden brown.

  5. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell goes away.

  6. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn mushy.

  7. Add coriander powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for a minute.

  8. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool down.

  9. Once cooled, blend the mixture into a smooth paste using a blender.

  10. Heat the same pan on medium flame and add the blended paste.

  11. Add water as required to adjust the consistency.

  12. Add paneer cubes and cook for 5-7 minutes until the gravy thickens.

  13. Add heavy cream and mix well.

  14. Cook for another 2-3 minutes and turn off the heat.

  15. Garnish with chopped fresh coriander leaves (optional) and serve hot with naan, roti, or rice.

Recipe:

  • To prepare shahi paneer recipe mix the onion, green chillies, tomatoes along with ginger garlic paste. Now in a bowl, add the curd and whisk it well.Now, grind cashews and almonds separately using a little water and make cashew and almond paste. Keep them aside until required.
  • Put a pan on medium flame and heat 3 tbsps of ghee in it. Add the mixture of onion, green chillies, tomatoes along with ginger garlic paste in pan. Cook for about 8 to 10 minutes. Then, add the curd, cook for another 5 minutes and pour water into the pan. Cook for another 2 minutes. When the gravy is cooked, let it cool down at room temperature. After cooling down add it to a mixer jar and blend it.
  • Now, heat the ghee in another pan and add the ground gravy in it along with red chilli powder, garam masala powder, cashew and almond paste along with salt. Bring it to a boil to make thick gravy.Then add the paneer cubes and milk. Cook for another 3 to 5 minutes. Add some fresh cream,to look dish more attractive and enhance taste.
  • Garnish this delicious paneer recipe with chopped coriander leaves and serve it.
