This seems an era of bio pics. Until now, we have had the bio pics of various athletes and sportspersons, like Milkha Singh, Mary Kom, M S Dhoni, Phogat sisters, and so on. Rajkumar Hirani, going slightly out of the way, has come up with the bio pic of one of the most controversial and admired Bollywood actors, Sanjay Dutt.

The question is a bit debatable. If we talk about the fans, they were really excited for the movie's release and have given it an excellent response. You can see the frenzy that the movie created even before the release ashere.
But there's another side of the story as well. The more skeptical audience is condemning the movie because it uses the genre of biopics to correct and glorify the blemished image of Sanjay Dutt. An example ishere.
After reading the above link, if you think that one should encourage such movies and appreciate this one, then you should surely go and watch. But if you are concerned about the kind of art that is being presented to us consumers then you should re think about it.
In the name of entertainment, Bollywood is serving us anything and we are following such trends like idiots. Indian viewership, much like Indian readership has very low standards and this is saddening. I think we should condemn such movies which serve us falsity and misguide us in the name of entertainment and art.
