I am not sure about "new" or "invention"… But there do exist SO MANY products that most people don’t know about.
Like this one…
(Courtesy: Business2Community)
This is an infant hand pillow called Zaky. It is "an ergonomically-designed infant pillow that helps humanize the developmental care given to babies, providing comfort and security to them even when a parent is not there to hold them".
It isn’t an out-of-the-world product. But it’s quite cool and does solve a problem.

Here's another one…

A different kind of umbrella called Senz, "The StormproofUmbrella"
We've all been there when the heavy wind turns our umbrella upside down, leaving us embarrassed with a bunch of onlookers laughing at the spectacle.

This product solves that problem.

Livescribe Sky Wi-Fi Smartpen.
"The Sky wifi smartpen is the perfect pen for today's always-on, connected world. It syncs all your handwritten notes and any recorded audio to your free Evernote account, allowing you to have quick and easy access to the information that matters to you, any time, and anywhere."
Simply put, it will record everything you scribble.
Not sure if there's any market demand for this, but it surely is a cool concept.

FlaskTie.
(And this is perhaps the most ridiculous product that rightfully people don’t know about, and they shouldn’t!)
Its Amazon listing reads "Men can drink in style with this FlaskTie! Conceal up to 8 ounces of your beverage of choice. This tie is perfect for whatever occasion calls for you to sneak a sip!"
Yes, these ties hold a bladder insider where you can store your favorite beverage and take a sip any time of the day.

A heated butter knife is another product that most people don’t know about…

It's difficult to cut the butter when frozen. We all struggle with that. This product looks like genius, on paper at least.
There are so many products that most people don’t know about.
And with platforms like Kickstarter in the mainstream, it's easier than ever to finance even the most of absurd product ideas through crowdfunding.
