This is one of the most auspicious festivals for married women in which the women fast.These vratas or fasts are for goddess Lakshmi. Varalakshmi Vrat is considered very sacred in Hinduism.
Varalakshmi's fast falls on Friday, one week before the Shukla Paksha of Sawan. It comes on the Friday before the full moon of Rakshabandan and Sawan. This fast has its own specialty. Women keeps fast for the happiness and prosperity of their houses. Suhagan or married woman keeps this fast for her husband, and if both husband and wife observe this fast for each other, it bears very good fruits. This fast is also observed for child.
How to worship on Varahlaxmi Vratham: -
- On the day of Varahlakshmi Vratham, we should wake early in the morning, clean the house and take bath. Sprinkling Ganga Jal in the house to make the house holy is essential on this day.
If you have set an idol of Lakshmi, then you should decorate it with the turmeric, kumkum and new clothes.
- For worshiping, first of all worship the earth, after which the Kalash is worshiped and after that Ganesha is worshiped.
- The floral beads should be pleated, after which lamp with ghee should be lit and the blessings of Lakshmi ji should be taken. Now you should read Laxmi ji's fast story and after that you can fulfill this fast by performing Aarti.
