India's National Energy Day is significant as it highlights energy conservation in a sustainable way, as well as innovation in India to do that. The day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sir. M. Visvesvaraya. The day promotes efficient use of resources, emphasising mainly on renewable energy and the country’s transition towards self-reliant power sources.
