There is a big reason behind celebrating International Sex Worker Day in the world. This is from the 1970s. Some sex workers were forced to work in secret by the French police. It is believed that for this reason violence started on sex workers. Because of this, the protection of sex workers decreased.
The question of safety and humanity arose in front of such sex workers who are facing violence. People started misbehaving with them and doing inhumane work, due to which the plight of sex workers started falling.
Sex workers were troubled by torture and exploitation. When sex workers started being harassed, they started a movement to demand their rights and to live human life. On June 2, 1975, 100 sex workers sounded the trumpet against the then government of France. But due to lack of public support, they were forcefully removed from the movement by the police force on June 10.
After eight days, the French police personnel forcefully removed them from the place of movement, but by now their movement had taken a fierce form. The movement among sex workers spread throughout France and Europe. Gradually, the movement (movement) of sex workers spread all over the world. And it became a national movement. Since then, International Sex Workers Day started being celebrated on 2 June.

Objective of celebrating International Sex Worker Day

The social status of sex workers is the same all over the world. They are pushed into the world of prostitution. Or come by their own will but to get out of this quagmire they need positive role of society.
Therefore, International Sex Worker Day is celebrated under the awareness campaign for the rights of sex workers all over the world, that is its purpose. Now, why is it celebrated? What is their significance?

The need of this day is to secure all the sex workers from the inhumane activities. Also, sometimes they are victim of cruelty and they face violence too.
