This controversy was started by actor turned politician and founder and president of political party Makkal Needi Maiyam, Kamal Hassan. He said that Nathuram Godse was the first Hindu terrorist. While replying to Kamal Hassan’s speech in an election campaign, Bhopal BJP candidate, Pragya Singh Thakur said that Nathuram Godse was a ‘Deshbhakt’.
Pragya Thakur was always in centre of controversy either for her arrest or release, or for some disputable remarks. But this time she was replying to Kamal Hassan. Actually, BJP demanded arrest of Kamal Hassan for his Hindu terrorist remark during election. And Pragya Thakur proved that she was not less than Kamal Hassen.
After her Deshbhakt remark of Nathuram Godse, BJP was very much upset with her and asked her to tender a public apology. After sharp criticism from Congress and her own party she tendered her apology to state BJP president. In her apology note she said that “I believe in my organisation, I work for it and party’s line is my line”
As she was already asked to apologise by BJP itself, where is the question of Modi and Amit Shaw’s apology? It is her words and not party’s. Bjp distanced itself from the controversial remark within the hours of her statement. So no need for the BJP leader’s apology.
