Yes, we can absolutely say that. In fact, I believe that Signature Bridge, despite not being the tallest or the more significant in the world, has a greater role to play that the recently inaugurated Sardar Patel statue in Gujarat.
To put forth the already known facts, Signature Bridge, which was just yesterday inaugurated in East Delhi, is twice the height of Qutub Minar, while the Statue of Unity has now become world’s tallest statue. So in a way, both of the new tourist spots in India are important in their own right.
We however, are aware of all the politics hidden behind the creation of the Statue of Unity. Signature Bridge on the other hand, got permission to be rebuilt, after 1999 when the collapse of the old bridge resulted in the drowning of a school bus in river Yamuna. It has now built in a massive bridge and become a major tourist attraction in the capital city.
Its inauguration even got all the necessary and unnecessary attention when BJP leader Manoj Tiwari blamed AAP of practicing hooliganism on him when he tried to attend the inauguration uninvited. A tug of war (which is metaphorical in the side by side construction and inauguration of the Statue of Unity and Signature Bridge), was started between AAP and BJP during the inauguration which fuelled the matter.
Keeping the whole drama aside, Signature Bridge is going to help shorten the distance between Delhi and Ghaziabad for people while we all know what all the Statue of Unity is doing.
