Not at all. To begin a career in digital marketing, one does not require any technical background. The profession is not restricted to individuals with different backgrounds and whether you majored in arts, commerce, engineering or any other such field. Majority of the work is on strategy, content, creativity and analytics as opposed to coding or technical complicated work.
Digital marketing tools and platforms are not all that hard to use, and you get to learn them one step at a time. An example is the management of social media, email, and Web site platforms such as WordPress, which will be intuitive, hence easy to learn by new users. The learning curve is not very complicated because training programs tend to take you through these tools by performing real exercises.
The greatest attention should be paid to building the basis of core marketing skills, including the ability to know your audience, to make engaging content, to conduct campaigns, and to interpret performance. In some specialized fields, technical experience may be an advantage, although no one needs it to enter or accomplish digital marketing. Anyone can start a career in this area with the proper attitude and a regular practice.
